Common questions
Why doesn't rice work?
Rice might absorb a little surface moisture, but water damage happens inside the phone — on the logic board, connectors and components. My phone says it's water resistant — why is it damaged?
IP ratings are tested under controlled lab conditions with fresh water. Real-world exposure (salt water, chlorinated water, soap, drops from height, or a phone with an older seal) often causes damage that the IP rating doesn't protect against. The seal also degrades over time.
